What does the RIDDOR course cover?
RIDDOR stands for the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013. If someone is seriously hurt at work, or a dangerous incident comes close to causing harm, the law expects the right person to report it to the enforcing authority within a set deadline. This online RIDDOR training course explains how that duty works in practice, so the person responsible in your business knows what to do long before an incident ever happens.
The course opens with the purpose of the regulations and who they apply to. It then works through the categories in detail, covering which injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences must be reported and which fall outside the rules. That distinction trips up plenty of managers, and getting it wrong can mean a missed legal deadline or an unnecessary report. The final module walks through submitting a report itself, including who is allowed to report and the time limits set in law.
Training takes around 25 minutes across four modules, each ending with a short test that needs a 70 percent score to pass. Everything runs online, so a supervisor can complete it at their desk in one sitting or spread it over a few breaks. Once the final test is passed, the certificate is ready to download straight away.
