What does the Working in Confined Spaces course cover?
A confined space does not have to be small. Tanks, silos, sewers, ducts, poorly ventilated plant rooms and excavations can all qualify, and the hazards inside them can overwhelm a person in seconds. This online confined space awareness training explains what the law says, what actually counts as a confined space, and the safe working procedures that control the risk for anyone working in or near one.
The course starts with the legislation, then looks at the dangers themselves, from toxic and flammable atmospheres to the risk of becoming trapped. From there it covers safe operating procedures, the communication methods teams rely on, emergency arrangements and rescue, and the paperwork that keeps everything legally sound. By the end, your learner will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the control measures set out in a safe working procedure.
Four learning modules take around 25 minutes, followed by a final assessment with a 70 percent pass mark, and the certificate is available to download as soon as the learner passes. The course is IOSH, IIRSM and CPD approved. One point to be clear on before you book: this is an awareness course for people who need to understand confined space risks but will not enter a confined space themselves. Anyone required to work in or near one also needs approved practical training at the appropriate level, and we can point you in the right direction for that.

How does the assessment work?
The course ends with a final assessment and the pass mark is 70 percent. Learners can review the modules and retake the assessment if they need another attempt.
Can I train several people at once?

How these courses are delivered
We work in partnership with VideoTile Learning to deliver online IOSH Approved Working Safely and Managing Safely. The courses are delivered via their platform. As an agent for these courses we are not directly approved by or associated with IOSH.
IATP, CPD, IIRSM, IFE, ILM and IOSH approved courses are owned and delivered by VideoTile Learning Ltd and are distributed under licence.
Laser, ETA and IOSH Qualifications are examined via VideoTile Learning Ltd.
Refunds and cancellation
- Courses are supplied by VideoTile Learning Ltd. Your purchase is with them, and their terms and refund policy apply to it.
- An unused licence can be removed from an account within 14 days of being added, providing the account has not been accessed by the candidate or business. Beyond 14 days the system will restrict this activity.
- No refund is granted where there is reason to believe the learner has viewed any of the content they purchased.
- Consumers have a 7 day cooling off period in which to cancel and receive a refund, with no reason needed. These regulations do not govern contracts between businesses.
- VideoTile Learning Ltd reserves the right to charge a handling fee of 15 percent of the original fee. Refunds are paid within 30 days of cancellation.
