What does the Fire Doors course cover?
A fire door only works if it is the right door, fitted properly, kept shut and kept in good condition. Get any of those wrong and a door that should hold back fire and smoke becomes a weak point in the building. This online fire doors training course explains how these doors work and what it takes to keep them protecting people and property.
The course begins with what a fire door actually is, the different types available and how they are constructed. It then looks at why fire doors matter so much, using real examples of failures and the serious consequences that followed when doors were misused or neglected. From there it covers how fire doors and the areas around them should be controlled day to day, and it finishes with practical steps for checking and maintaining the fire doors in your own workplace.
Training takes around 40 minutes across five short modules, ending with a final exam with a 70 percent pass mark, and learners are certificated on completion. The course suits anyone in the workplace and is particularly useful for the people responsible for fire safety in a building. It also sits well alongside our fire extinguisher, basic fire safety awareness and fire marshal courses for anyone building broader fire safety knowledge.
