What does the Working Safely course cover?
Working Safely is a thorough online health and safety induction for people starting a new role or stepping onto a new site. Health and safety is one of the few areas of law that places duties directly on employees as well as employers, so it pays for every worker to understand what safe working actually looks like and why it matters. Too many people still assume accidents only happen to someone else, and the physical, mental and financial cost of getting that wrong lands on workers, families and colleagues alike.
The course covers a wide sweep of workplace risk. It defines hazard and risk properly, then moves through common hazards including fire safety, asbestos, working at height, COSHH, PPE and electricity, before covering how to improve safety performance and protect the environment. Many of the examples come from construction, which makes it a strong fit for anyone working on a site for the first time, though the principles hold in any workplace.
There are five learning modules with around 150 minutes of training in total. Each module ends with a test, and the course finishes with a final assessment and a hazard perception exercise. The course is IIRSM and CPD approved, so it stands up well as evidence of proper induction training. Once your learner passes, their certificate is ready to download straight away.

How long does the Working Safely course take?

Is the course approved?
Yes. Working Safely is an IIRSM and CPD approved course. IIRSM approval means it meets the standards of a leading industry body, and every learner receives a certificate on completion.
Is this a good induction course?
It is designed for exactly that. The course covers a wide range of health and safety topics in real detail, and because most examples relate to construction it suits people starting out on site especially well.
How is the course assessed?
Each learning module ends with a test, and the course finishes with a final assessment plus a hazard perception exercise. Learners can revisit the material and retake tests if they need to.
What should staff take after this course?
It depends on the role. Working at Height suits anyone working above ground level, COSHH covers chemical handling in more depth, and lone workers would benefit from personal safety training.
Can I enrol my whole team?

How these courses are delivered
We work in partnership with VideoTile Learning to deliver online IOSH Approved Working Safely and Managing Safely. The courses are delivered via their platform. As an agent for these courses we are not directly approved by or associated with IOSH.
IATP, CPD, IIRSM, IFE, ILM and IOSH approved courses are owned and delivered by VideoTile Learning Ltd and are distributed under licence.
Laser, ETA and IOSH Qualifications are examined via VideoTile Learning Ltd.
Refunds and cancellation
- Courses are supplied by VideoTile Learning Ltd. Your purchase is with them, and their terms and refund policy apply to it.
- An unused licence can be removed from an account within 14 days of being added, providing the account has not been accessed by the candidate or business. Beyond 14 days the system will restrict this activity.
- No refund is granted where there is reason to believe the learner has viewed any of the content they purchased.
- Consumers have a 7 day cooling off period in which to cancel and receive a refund, with no reason needed. These regulations do not govern contracts between businesses.
- VideoTile Learning Ltd reserves the right to charge a handling fee of 15 percent of the original fee. Refunds are paid within 30 days of cancellation.
